They fled in the 'capital of tolerance' of the time (as they say even now): Amsterdam. Al di là del fatto se avesse ragione o meno resta l'esempio veramente vergognoso della città di Amsterdam che ha permesso tutto ciò. Insomma non sembra essere cambiato poi molto. Ma torniamo alla tappa: Inghilterra vuol dire anche pioggia ed infatti eccola puntualissima nei pressi di Nottingham (nessuna traccia del famoso sceriffo ). 
Dopo la pioggia il mutevole tempo inglese - ora capisco perché gli inglesi parlano tanto del tempo - si tramuta in foschia e così non vedo molto di Manchester , città che fin dal nome romano, magnum castrum , rivela le sue lontane origini italiche. 
Inaspettatamente grosso e trafficatissimo l'aeroporto di tale città. 
Poco distante da Manchester vi è un altro enorme agglomerato urbano che altro non è che la città di Liverpool . 
Fin troppo facile dire che Liverpool è la città dei Beatles : se andate a leggere la loro storia ne scoprirete delle belle, molte delle quali erano totalmente sconosciute anche me. What is certain is that Liverpool is very, very big.
